Denver Broncos legend Terrell Davis is joining Colorado State University as a CSU Athletics Rambassador. TD joins CSU’s Presidential Executive in Residence program, which was launched earlier this year to engage top professionals from a cross-section of industries and disciplines in advisory roles and to provide direct connections for students and the broader campus community. As CSU Athletics Rambassador for this year, he will be on the sidelines for home football games, work with student-athletes and coaches across all 16 CSU sports programs, speak to classes, attend university events, and work with donors and stakeholders to secure new sources of support.

In their largest transfer of bison to date, Colorado State University, the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County shipped 39 bison from the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd to three Native American tribes in Oklahoma and Kansas. The herd was established in 2015 using CSU’s expertise in assisted reproductive technologies – including in vitro fertilization, artificial insemination and embryo transfer – to produce bison that have the same heirloom genetics as those that have lived in and around Yellowstone National Park. Just a short drive north of Denver, lies the historic and charming city of Fort Collins, Colorado, which is also the home of Colorado State University. From the cafes and boutiques in Old Town to the outdoor trails around Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins has a lot to offer. The second annual Iron Brew Challenge paired Colorado State University Fermentation Science and Technology students with alumni brewers from SweetWater Brewing, Odell Brewing, and New Belgium Brewing to develop beers using this year’s secret ingredient: flowers. Each brew team also worked with CSU’s Department of Art and Art History students to develop artwork, graphics and more for their beers. The competition is an interdisciplinary effort that provides students with real-world experience developing, brewing and marketing their own beer. SHEL is an American folk/pop band from Fort Collins. The band is composed of the four Holbrook sisters, where SHEL is an acronym for their names, Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. They performed live on the CSU campus at the Lory Student Center for a special video produced by a team of CSU video/audio professionals and the student production group RamProductions.
This music video featuring Colorado/California musician Karlyle Walker, known as Krushendo, was produced and filmed by a team of CSU students (now alums) in 2019. It was created by Inglorious Filmmakers aka Amelia Phillips, Alexandria Clough, Austin Nay, Jon Johnson, and Jack Murphy as part of the 53:14: Music Video Experiment in conjunction with FocoMX and The Bohemian Foundation. Walker passed away in 2023 from a pulmonary embolism and this video is dedicated to his memory.
This music video features journalism adjunct instructor and local musician Russick Smith and was filmed by a team of CSU related alums and students.

The Burroughs visit campus for a special Live! @ CSU concert performance on 9-13-24. From humble beginnings covering soul standards in their unlikely hometown of Greeley, Colorado, The Burroughs have traversed a decade of growth and reinvention to become a band that defies odds and transcends categorization. Since 2013, the 9-piece act has lit up stages around the country with their trademark brand of “sweaty soul music,” an invitation for audiences to dance, celebrate, and connect under a unifying and infectious groove.

Jet-fueled by powerhouse front woman Alysia Kraft, The Patti Fiasco rides the edge of emotional extreme, delivering a brash yet fiercely soulful brand of rock and roll with a heavy dose of rockabilly, blues, and ballad. At times raw and volatile, and at others, sweet and lilting, the band fuses a hard-rock swagger with the two-step of its Wyoming roots. The Lagoon Summer Concert Series has been a celebrated northern Colorado summer tradition. Produced by Colorado State University, Lagoon consists of concerts throughout the summer that unite music lovers of all ages.
The CSU Music Percussion group has a special performance at Griffin Hall with “Bulldog.”

Sports
The Power of Four is a short ski film following 4 teams of 2 as they take on one of the most grueling ski mountaineering races in the US. It is directed, edited and partially filmed by CSU alum Forrest Barton. Each team uses the race, which involves 26 miles and 11,000 feet of vertical climbing and skiing, as a way to face and overcome challenges within and outside of the sport.

Beyond the Soil is a short, poetic documentary which explores the emotional impact of climate change on farmers and ranchers who are on the frontlines of Colorado's megadrought in the Rocky Mountain West.
Documentary filmmaker Jaime Jacobsen, led a team of fellow faculty and graduate students including Rhea Maze, Eric Forbes, Matt Ross and Russick Smith.
“The Great Experiment: CSU at 150”, is a documentary celebrating the first 150 years of Colorado State University. The documentary aired on Rocky Mountain PBS in October 2020.
The CSU documentary team that produced the program was led by Frank Boring.

CO-Existing with Wildfire documents the impact of wildfires in Colorado, showcasing what federal and state government organizations are doing to help, while emphasizing the critical role of homeowners in preventing wildfires. Expert interviews with local foresters, researchers, state fire officials, Colorado Congressmen, and personal stories of the impact of wildfires and mitigation efforts. The documentary is produced by CSU faculty and students and originally aired on Rocky Mountain PBS.
Soul Kitchen Dance is a story produced by CSU students about a local group of Fort Collins residents who find joy in dancing together without inhibitions. And how they maintained a sense of community during the pandemic.
This award winning documentary features one of Hollywood’s most colorful figures, Gene McLaughlin. Originally a rodeo cowboy who became a stunt man and actor in films and TV, Gene eventually ascended to the heights of World Trick Roping champion. He started his trick roping career as a 5 year old on the boardwalk of Atlantic City. The documentary was produced by a CSU faculty member.
Paint by Bricks is a CSU student documentary focusing on the work of artist Jahna Rae Church who uses buildings as her canvas to create beautiful scenes.
Hold Our Ground is a CSU Center for Science Communication film focusing on the challenge of Colorado farmers as they negotiate the changing soil and weather conditions impacting their growing seasons. This program is called Farmers on Soil Health.
